Where each one wins

Angi

Free to use

Best when your job is on its instant-book list.

  • Pre-priced services show a price before you schedule.
  • Everything else goes out as a quote request to several pros.
  • Only Angi Approved pros have been through its background screening.

The FTC case

January 2023

The FTC ordered HomeAdvisor, which also operates as Angi Leads, to pay up to $7.2 million.

  • The FTC said it misrepresented the quality of the leads it sold to pros.
  • It also said it overstated how often those leads turned into jobs.
  • Pros carry that cost, and it shapes who answers your request.

Domas & Co.

Free for homeowners

Best when you want one standard for every pro, on every job.

  • Send the job. See the price before anyone is dispatched.
  • Every pro clears the same background, business and insurance checks.
  • You pay for the finished job, after a 48-hour window to flag any problem.

If your job is on Angi's pre-priced list and you're happy with an Angi Approved pro, that's a solid way to go. Domas is for the jobs that don't fit a list, and for people who want every pro checked the same way.

Free to the homeowner almost always means somebody else is paying. On lead sites it's the pros, per lead. On Domas it's 3% of finished, paid jobs. Join Domas free and send the next job, or apply as a pro.
